The Lebanon Area Veterans Memorial Board is scheduled to host a Veterans Day Ceremony and Memorial Display Dedication from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Cowan Civic Center.

The board will be honoring veterans and dedicating the new static military equipment located at the Veterans’ Memorial Park. In recent weeks, a long-awaited retired Bell Ah-1 Cobra military helicopter and a retired Sherman tank have been added to the park located at the civic center. Members of the Veterans Board began the process of acquiring equipment from the U.S. Army more than a decade ago.

The ceremony will kick off in the Cowan Civic Center foyer featuring tributes to veterans and to the nation. Music will be provided by the Lebanon High School Band and a video will be presented by the Lebanon High School Visual Arts Club. Missouri Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe is scheduled to serve as keynote speaker.

Following the indoor ceremony, the event will move outdoors to the park where the military equipment will be dedicated. A Fort Leonard Wood representative is expected to speak and special musical selections will be presented. This event is open to the public.
