Welcome to our City Newsletter!

Greetings!

We hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July! We appreciate everyone who did not light personal fireworks and celebrated safely. In an effort to remind the community of fireworks being dangerous and illegal in Long Beach we activated the #CelebrateSafelyLB campaign. Inside this issue you will find some statistics on our fireworks enforcement and other public safety response efforts. We continue to ask the community to please report any illegal firework activity here.

We are happy to share that Long Beach beaches received excellent recreational water quality grades from Heal the Bay for 2021-2022, with 100% percent of its beaches receiving A or B grades! ? You can also see our daily recreational water monitoring samples here.

Our Health and Human Services Department shared findings of our 2022 Homeless Point in Time Count revealing that the number of people experiencing homelessness increased substantially during the pandemic. We have all the details on what the City is doing to help solve homelessness.
