MelroseKind Launches October Diaper Drive

MelroseKind has launched a Diaper Drive for the month of October and is currently accepting diapers of any size at their Kindness Porch  located at 249 Grove Street in Melrose. The diaper sizes most needed are size newborn, 3, 4 and 5, but all sizes are welcome.

This month, MelroseKind is partnering with the Melrose YMCA and the Food Drive—two Melrose organizations that offer support to local families experiencing need, including families in need of diapers.

"Our Melrose YMCA receives calls on a weekly basis from childcare families and community members asking for diapers," said Maribeth Darwin of MelroseKind. "As financial belts are tightened, donations become even more important."

The Food Drive, in coordination with the Saugus Emergency Motel Shelter Program, assists families experiencing homelessness gain stabilization. These families have young children, with ages ranging from newborn to 17, and most arrive at the shelter with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

"The current need for diapers far exceeds the supply," said Darwin. "We are grateful for all you can give."

MelroseKind will accept diaper donations until October 31.
