2022 Christmas Parade CANCELLED

Due to Inclement Weather

The Downtown Association has made the difficult decision to cancel the annual Christmas Parade scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday, December 10th) due to safety concerns of operating during inclement weather. The weather forecast is predicting heavy rains and moderate winds during the scheduled parade time.

Winter Storm Arrives This Weekend

PG&E meteorologists expect more power outage causing weather starting Friday and Saturday. Napa and Marin counties may experience sustained outages as the storm passes. PG&E North Bay Division will have crews prepared to respond to outages and restore as quickly as possible when safe to do so.

Please share in advance or direct residents and businesses as needed to these primary useful resources:  PG&E Weather Awareness  and  Current and Future Outages.   Heavy rain, strong winds, saturated soil, driving conditions and other factors can lead to impacts on PG&E electric facilities.  Customers who have updated their notification preferences (email, text, or voice) will be notified of outages and anticipated restoration times.  All customers may also check the current outages website for maps of all outages and expected restoration.  I am unable to provide real-time updates beyond what is visible using those links.

-Saturday a strong weather system will move across much of the state with the potential of heavy rain at times, strong gusty winds, and heavy snow across the northern mountains and Sierra.

-Sustained winds expected to range between 15-30 mph and gusts ranging 35-50 mph.

-Moderate rainfall will range around 1-3” along the North Coast.

-Snow levels may begin the day at or around 3,500-4,500’ across the far North but will raise to around 5000’ through the morning and remain there. Feet of snow are then expected above 5000’ with this system on Saturday.

-Don’t string more than three strands of lights together per extension cord

-Don’t light fireplaces with hanging stockings or other decorations on the mantel
