Honoring Black History Month

The City of Napa proudly recognizes February 2023 as Black History Month. Black History Month is a time where we honor the incredible contributions the Black community has made throughout U.S. history. The theme for 2023 is Black Resistance. This year, we focus on honoring the work African Americans have done to fight for justice against discrimination. Freedom fighters such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Septima Clark, Fannie Lou Hamer, Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston and so many more are symbols of our American ideals: freedom, liberty, and justice for all.
