Drug Take Back Day

In November 2021, the CDC announced over 100,000 drug overdose deaths in a 12-month period -- a 28% increase from the previous year. Proper drug disposal plays a huge part in combatting the opioid epidemic and keeping those around us safe.

Drug Take Back Day returns this Saturday, October 29th, hosted by the Police Departments of Napa, St. Helena, Calistoga, Yountville, and American Canyon, the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, Kaiser Permanente and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Bring your unused or expired over-the-counter or prescription medications, as well as home generated medical sharps, to the following drop-off locations:

American Canyon Police Department
911 Donaldson Way East, American Canyon

Napa County Sheriff’s Office
1535 Airport Blvd, Napa

Kaiser Permanente Medical Offices – East Parking Lot *Drive-Through Only*
3285 Claremont Way, Napa

Yountville Police Department
1950 Mulberry Street, Yountville

Napa Dia de los Muertos

Join us in celebrating Dia De Los Muertos or Day of The Dead in Downtown Napa!

The celebration will be Saturday, November 5th from 3pm - 8pm at Veterans Park, Dwight Murray Plaza and along Brown Street. Come honor this beautiful tradition as we remember our loved ones who have passed. There will be live music with Mariachi Tradicion Mexicana and Dr. Loco’s Rockin Jalapeno Band.  There will also be Community Altars, Kids Crafts, Folklorico Dancing, and amazing Art Exhibits. Napa Dia de los Muertos aims to create a family-friendly event where the Napa community joins together in art, tradition, music, dance, and food.

October is National Code Enforcement Month!

October is National Code Enforcement Month! We wanted to take a moment to recognize our dedicated code enforcement officers, Anthony Howard and Devon Webb, who work tirelessly to ensure that our City stays beautiful – and in compliance.

Devon loves what he does because he enjoys helping people and problem solving. He wants the community to know that his team is working to rebuild the department and find new ways to effectively serve their community.

Being able to respond to public concerns regarding code violations, investigating and solving problems as they arise are some of the things Anthony likes best about his job. As he so aptly states, “We take our job seriously, and we are here as a line of defense to keep the City of Napa beautiful for all residents.”

A round of applause to this great team – and give them a wave if you see them around town!
