Napa Dia de los Muertos

Downtown Napa
Saturday, November 5th from 3- 8pm
Napa Dia De Los Muertos is a family-friendly event where our diverse Napa community feels seen and heard through art, tradition, music, dance, and food; and where the spirit of Dia De Los Muertos is driven by cultural awareness, understanding, and acceptance. A community altar will be open to the public in Dwight Murry Plaza. We invite you all to bring copies of photos, written stories, and memories to honor and celebrate your ancestors. The event will be located at Veteran's Memorial Park, Dwight Murray Plaza and in the Brown Street Corridor.  For more information visit our website HERE.

Los Cenzontles
CIA at Copia
November 4th at 6:00pm
Festival Napa Valley in partnership with Napa Parks and Recreation presents Los Cenzontles in conjunction with Napa Dis de Los Muertos. The Grammy-nominated ensemble, whose work with Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Browne was showcased in the recent HBO documentary Linda and the Mockingbirds, will perform a program of traditional Mexican music and dance, including ranchers, boleros, and sones Jarochos. Advance RSVP is recommended, but not required. Admission is free and family friendly - reservations are available now here.

Drop in Badminton

Wednesdays and Fridays 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Rackets, nets, and birdies are all provided. play is open for those 16+, drop in badminton is $7/person each Friday. Register ahead of time online or in person at our front desk. Save 45% by purchasing a 20 visit multi-day pass for $63! Passes may be purchased at the front desk and are valid through May 26, 2023. Anyone under 18 and still in high school must have a parent/guardian signature on file before participating.

Hands Only CPR

Hands Only CPR can be just as effective as conventional CPR.  Learn what Hands Only CPR is and how to give it. In only a few minutes Napa Fire Department staff will teach you this lifesaving skill!  Please register in advance HERE.

Napa Senior Center November 15
The Napa Senior Center annual Thanksgiving luncheon has returned!  We are so grateful to share the holiday with you!  Join us for our annual catered Thanksgiving lunch with turkey and all the trimmings, including dessert.  We can't wait to celebrate! Lunch service will begin at 11:30 and end at 12:30pm. Please register one week in advance.

Evening Meditation
Napa Senior Center Thursdays 6 - 7pm
Meditation is just what you need at the end of a long day.  Every week, you will receive beginning meditation instruction, some time to sit, and some perspective on living a more serene and happy life.  Each class is designed to stand alone to better fit your busy life. Mini and Junior Warriors
Hoops Season is back! It's time to lace up the basketball shoes and grab your "rock" to get back to the gym. Registration for Mini-Warriors (ages 5-7) & Junior Warriors (ages 8-12) is open now. Mini Warriors will be held Saturdays from 12/3-12/17 & Junior Warriors will be held mid-January to mid-March with weekday practices/games along with some Saturday games. Basketball Camp

Looking to work on your basketball game during Thanksgiving Break? Then our Hoop it Up Basketball Camp offered through National Academy of Athletics is perfect for you! Our 9am-Noon camp 11/21-11/23, will teach participants basketball fundamentals through skills, drills, games and fun. If you want to get ready for your upcoming basketball season, this camp is not one to be missed. Register for Hoop it Up.   

Read with a Ranger and Park Tours
Saturday, November 5th 10:00-11:00am
Join the City of Napa Park Rangers for our Read with a Ranger program! We will meet at the Carolyn Parr Nature Center to read a nature related story and go for a short, guided hike in Westwood Hills Park. Advanced registration is required. Register for Read with a Ranger here.

Organizational Excellence
Each month we celebrate an employee who epitomizes our workplace values. This month we are focused on the value of Organizational Excellence and are featuring Sam Glenn. Sam has always been willing and eager to lern and teach. Sam was one of the first to learn Lucity, the city's new workorder and work management program, inside and out. The program assists with work scheduling, tracking assets and facilitates better communicate with citizens. he uses it in his own work and helps others to master the program. Sam is an excellent employee and co-worker. We are fortunate to have him on the Urban Forestry Division Team. Thanks for all you do Sam.

Stop Falls
The Stop Falls presentation will inform you about specific ways to avoid falls in your home or when you're out and about. The presentation covers fall prevention strategies and tools to use to keep safe. We'll play BINGO to reinforce what you have learned. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. This class is presented by Kirsten Gravatt and Ruth Matz from Share the Care.
