Canal Debris Mapping Help Needed

Dear Members and Advisors,
The City has asked the Boaters Alliance to spearhead a project to identify floating and submerged debris in our canals.
The Punta Gorda/Charlotte Harbor Boaters Alliance is asking for volunteers, with boats and sonar units, to step forward and assist in this effort. Each boat will need an operator and an assistant.
We will be meeting on December 15th at 3:00 p.m. at the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association to plan and launch this effort. Please talk to your organization/club about this project and have those interested go to The Punta Gorda/Charlotte Harbor Boaters Alliance web page (boat2puntagorda.org) to sign up. Ask those who can help to attend the meeting on the 15th.
This effort should significantly reduce the time needed to for The City to clear our waterways.
