The City of Show Low, regional hub of the beautiful White Mountains in northeastern Arizona, offers that unique quality of life not found in many other places.   The crisp mountain atmosphere, mild four-season climate, close proximity to National Forests and countless lakes and streams make Show Low a recreation paradise.  The City of Show Low, with a population of 12,000 year-round residents, and a seasonal population of approximately 22,000, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grants Coordinator.

Full-time starting salary $55,000 per year, plus excellent benefits.  Hiring above the minimum will be based upon experience.

The Grants Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Grants Manager and other departments to perform professional work involving grant research, writing and contract administration and grant compliance; Identifies and researches grant funding opportunities; prepares grant applications for submission and public presentation; assists departments with grant identification, preparation and compliance as needed. The work involves considerable initiative in grant readiness that includes, but not limited to   establishing familiarity with city plans, identifying new grant funding sources that become available at the federal, state and local levels, while insuring timeline and regulatory compliance; maintains a grant database, grant files and documentation; establishes and maintains effective relations with other employees, agencies and public officials; as well as responsibility for administering programs related to grant funding

Additionally, the Grants Coordinator will assist the Grants Manager in providing administrative oversight of the area’s public transit system funded by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and its community partners.  Responsibilities include; prepare ADOT NOFA annual application for 5311 transit funding; assist in administrative oversight of the ADOT contract for compliance; oversee transit budget to ensure federal and local matches comply with contract allocations; prepare monthly ADOT billing; attend quarterly Transit Advisory Council meetings; participate in regional transit workshops and trainings; meet regularly with transit contractor to ensure operations for the Four Seasons Connection and White Mountain Connection bus services are conducted in accordance with ADOT regulations.   

Desired minimum qualifications, any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  Typically, a qualified candidate will possess at least a Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college in Administration, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field; and two (2) years of responsible experience related to grants or project management; or, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.   Successful candidate must possess a strong background in writing and attention to detail.
