Media Specialist

The CITY OF SHOW LOW announces recruitment for the position of Part-time Media Specialist.

The City of Show Low, regional hub of the beautiful White Mountains in northeastern Arizona, is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and innovative professional to join our community as its next Part-time Media Specialist.

Starting wage: $20.30 per hour, plus excellent benefits package.  Working 19 hours per week.  Hiring above the minimum will be based upon experience.  

GENERAL  PURPOSE:

Performs technical work in the production of video and audio presentations. Position requires initiative and ability to work alone at various hours, including nights, weekends and holidays. This position could be Full-Time or Part-Time.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the supervision of a Senior Media Specialist.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a variety of complex functions, which may include: assisting video project activities; performing basic multi-camera set up and switching; performing digital editing and field video camera operations, and performing other related activities

Advancing video project from concept to completion which includes conducting field interviews and creating finished video packages, and/or performing other related activities

Performing a variety of field and studio activities which include set up and adjustment of cameras, lighting equipment, microphones and other audio equipment of various field or remote productions

Operating character generators, production switchers and robotic cameras, participates in video coverage of meetings and/or other related groups

Performs all duties in strict compliance with appropriate safety and security standards.  Ensures all applicable safety and health rules and regulations are followed.  Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline work processes

Participates in the accomplishment of organizational, departmental and work group goals and objectives.  Exhibits a high level service orientation toward customers and maintains productive working relationships

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned

Serves on various employee or other committees as assigned
