Providing a comprehensive survey of aviation history in Delaware is the next addition to Arcadia Publishing's Images of Aviation series: Delaware Aviation.  This new book is by local authors Jan Churchill and Brig. Gen. Kennard R. Wiggins Jr. Both authors are two of Delaware's pre-eminent aviation historians, who have teamed up to produce a book that boasts more than 200 vintage images which span the history of aviation in the "First State."

Through a collection of images provided by a wide cross section of Delaware Aviation organizations and individuals, this new pictorial history shares the progression of flight throughout the state.  The authors include stories and images of the inventors, manufacturers, pilots, crews and maintainers who are all part of the diverse group of people that marked Delaware aviation history.

Author Brig. Gen. Kennard R. Wiggins Jr. states that the book "tells a story never before known of aerial feats, heroic deeds and lasting accomplishments."  Whether readers are history buffs or aeronautical enthusiasts, Delaware Aviation is a rich source of flying legend and lore from days of open cockpits to the present.
