Drug Free World DC Takes the Field Outside Audi Stadium—Distributes Nearly 1,000 Booklets During International Match
Volunteers educate fans on the dangers of drug abuse before and during RB Salzburg vs. Al-Hilal showdown
Washington, D.C. — As international football clubs RB Salzburg and Al-Hilal faced off on the pitch at Audi Field, the Foundation for a Drug Free World DC took up its own formation just outside Gate A to launch a focused drug prevention campaign. The result? 956 Truth About Drugs booklets distributed directly into the hands of attendees before and during the high-profile match.
Wearing signature Drug Free World shirts and working in coordinated waves, volunteers—both new recruits and experienced participants—formed a frontline of education. As fans poured in to support their teams, volunteers held their positions, engaging the crowd with vital facts about the dangers of substance abuse.
Audi Field, located in D.C.’s Ward 6, is no stranger to the challenges posed by rising drug misuse in the region. With fentanyl, synthetic marijuana, and opioid misuse affecting communities across the District, the need for accurate, youth-friendly education has never been greater. The Truth About Drugs campaign is designed to meet that need—with straightforward, easy-to-understand information on 14 of the most commonly abused drugs.
The evening match between Austria’s RB Salzburg and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal drew thousands, and the Drug Free World team ensured that nearly 1,000 of them left with more than just a game-day souvenir—they left with the knowledge to make informed, drug-free choices.
