From the Director:

Dear Library Friends and Followers,

As I'm sure you've noticed, this newsletter is coming a few days later than usual--we just have so much news! As it gets colder and I try to come up with new and witty things to put on the signs, I'm so thankful to live and work in a community that loves reading and libraries so much--it's inspiring! I'm also happy to announce that our Library Ramp is back in service, and much sturdier. We're hoping to re-build it in the Spring, but we're glad that it's now able to safely withstand the Winter months.

It was a real treat to see so many of you at the Emily's Friends of the Library book sale. We raised over $1700 to support Library programming, and had a great time in the sunshine. If the sale looked like fun, and you think you might be interested in joining the Friends and helping out with similar events, please send me an email at [email protected].

Thank you to those who completed the Community Feedback Survey - it has been incredibly helpful. We'll be contacting the winner of the Easthampton Chamber Gift Card shortly.

How's everyone coming along with their Library Challenge? If, like me, you're still a bit behind, the good news is the Challenge is on until December 2nd! It's not too late to join us for the second session of our newest adult Book Discussion, of This Time Tomorrow, by Emma Straub. Read the book and drop-in for the discussion AT THE COUNCIL ON AGING on November 10th, at 1pm.

We have a new book club growing in the Youth Department as well--come read and chat about graphic novels with Patti! The next meeting is tomorrow, and the books are fantastic.

Please remember that masking remains a requirement for all indoor programs--it's how we keep them safe and accessible! For our full lineup of November activities, keep reading, and check out our Calendar. We'll see you soon at the Library!

Finally, a shout-out to new cataloger Ben--he's the reason that all those coveted new books have been making it to the shelves in such a timely fashion, and we're very glad that he's here. In fact, we're thrilled that all our staff is here--the most frequent comment on our survey was about the friendliness, capability, and general fabulous-ness of the EWML staff, and I couldn't agree more.

Happy reading,
Katya
