Governor Gianforte Encourages Montanans To Give the Lifesaving Gift of Blood Donation

HELENA, Mont. – To mark the fifth day of his 12 Days of Giving, Governor Greg Gianforte today encouraged eligible Montanans to give the lifesaving gift of blood donation through the American Red Cross of Montana.

“Blood donors save lives,” Governor Gianforte said. “If Montanans are able, I encourage them to give a lifesaving gift this holiday season by donating blood at an American Red Cross of Montana blood drive.”

The American Red Cross of Montana hosts blood drives daily across the state, and has collected 44,643 units of lifesaving blood at 2,009 drives in the past year.

“We are grateful for the caring Montanans who donate blood. Every two seconds in America, someone needs lifesaving blood, whether it’s a mother giving birth, a child fighting cancer, a disaster survivor or a surgical patient,” said Diane Wright, executive director of the American Red Cross of Montana. “We join Governor Gianforte and encourage anyone who can donate lifesaving blood this holiday season to please make an appointment today.”
