Governor Polis Signs Bills Into Law to Build on Colorado's Nation-Leading Climate Work

DENVER - On May 21, 2024, Governor Polis signed the following bills into law in a ceremony to build on Colorado’s nation-leading climate work.

“Colorado is a model for the rest of the nation when it comes to clean air actions, climate leadership, and renewable energy jobs, and these bills build on the comprehensive work we’ve done s to improve air quality, reduce emissions, strengthen low-cost renewable energy resources, break down barriers to electric vehicles and save Coloradans money. I am excited to continue Colorado’s innovative work,” said Governor Jared Polis.  

- HB24-1346 - Energy & Carbon Management Regulation, sponsored by Representatives Brianna Titone and Karen McCormick, and Senators Chris Hansen and Kevin Priola.  

- SB24-212- Local Govs Renewable Energy Projects, sponsored by Senators Chris Hansen and Steve Fenberg, and Representatives Kyle Brown and Karen McCormick.

- HB24-1173 - Electric Vehicle Charging System Permits, sponsored by Representative Alex Valdez and Senators Kevin Priola and Sonya Jaquez Lewis.
