In response to rising rates of mental health distress among young people, Governor Murphy introduced his NGA Chair’s Initiative in July. Through the Strengthening Youth Mental Health Initiative, Governors from across the nation are collaborating to develop bipartisan solutions.

Drawing on the expertise of those on the frontlines in our schools, hospitals and doctor’s offices, the Chair’s Initiative aims to develop state policies on: prevention and resilience building; increasing awareness and reducing stigma; ensuring access and affordability of quality treatment and care; training and supporting caregivers and teachers.
