4-H Club Royalty Contestant entries due

July 15, 2023

All 4-H and FFA pre-entries due. Entries will be done online in the FairEntry system. Extension staff can answer any questions during office hours. Open class youth 5 and 6 yr. old livestock pre-entries due online.

August 4, 2023

Mailed Open Class Entry Forms Due (Open class entry forms can be found at www.harper.ksu.edu).

8:30 am: Clothing Construction and Buymanship Judging
10:30 am: Demonstrations and Illustrated Talks Contest
11:00 am: Judging of Fair Royalty Candidates Harper Methodist Church

August 5, 2023

5:00 pm: 4-H, FFA and Open Horse Show - Attica Arena
Check-in starts at 4:00 pm. Pre-entries are required and due by July 15th

August 7, 2023

Before fair clean-up pm Spring Robins, Sunnyside, Westside FFA

August 8, 2023

5-10:00pm: Swine should be unloaded and in place between
No Exceptions

August 9, 2023

7:45 am: Mandatory Swine Meeting
8:00 -10:00 am: Swine Weigh-In
8:00 - 5:00 pm: 4-H Exhibit Check In at Extension Booth
12:00 - 1:00 pm: Sheep and Goat Weigh-In Unload on 9th St. - Vet check required before unloading.
3:00 - 8:00 pm: Non-compliance will result in disqualification
3:00 - 8:00 pm: Open Class Exhibit Check-In
3:00 - 8:00 pm: Antique Exhibit check-in (Wed. Only)
3:00-8:00pm: 4-H and Open Class Rabbit Check-In
4:00 - 6:00 pm: 4-H and Open Class Poultry-Check
6:00 - 7:00 pm: Beef Weigh-In
7:00pm: 4-H Royalty Crowning (downtown park)
4-H Public Fashion Revue following Royalty
Horse Show Awards following Fashion Revue
9:00pm: Booths in place

August 10, 2023

7:00 - 9:00 am: Open Class Exhibit Check-In
8:00 am: Swine Show
9:30 am: Open Class Food and Handiwork Judging
10:00 am: Rabbit Judging
10:00 am: Judging of the following open class exhibits  Antiques Hobbies and Crafts Art Photography Booths Cookie Jar Flowers Crops and Garden
10:30 am: 4-H Booths and Banners
12:00 pm: Cookie Jar Silent Action Starts in Fair Barn
12:00 pm: Free meal open to the public, sponsored by Bank of the Plains. Downtown Harper under tent. Must be wearing a fair button to be served.
1:00 pm: Judging of Indoor 4-H Exhibits
6:00 pm: Pioneer Feed- Dowtown Harper Under Tent Everyone is invited. Sponsored by the City of Harper, City of Anthony, and City of Attica.
6:00 - 6:50 pm: Kids Pedal Tractor Pull Pre-entries
7:00 pm: Kids Pedal Tractor Pull

August 11, 2023

7 - 10:00 am: VFW Pancake Feed at VFW Building
8:00 am: Sheep Show
9:00 am: Meat Goat Show (follows sheep show) not before
10:30 am: Poultry Showmanship
11:00 am: Poultry Judging
3:00 pm: Beef Show
7:00 pm: Demolition Derby (Derby Arena) by Masons and Shriners
9:00 pm: Entertainment downtown

August 12, 2023

9:00 am: Horseshoe Tournament, Harper Park
10:00 am: Large Animal Round Robin
11:00 am: Baked Pie Contest (NE room in fair building)
12:00 pm: Cookie Jar Silent Auction in Fair Barn ends
12:00 pm: Lunch for 4-H/FFA members, families and livestock buyers sponsored by Mid Kansas Coop
1:30 pm: Award Presentations (livestock arena)
2:00 pm: Livestock Sale
12:30 pm: Baked Pie Silent Auction in Fair Barn starts
ends 1 hour after livestock sale ends.
6:30 pm: Grand Parade -Starting West of downtown HP
7:30 pm: Turtle Races (following parade) sponsored by VFW
8:00 pm: Entertainment downtown
8:00 pm: Exhibit and Booth Checkout

August 14, 2023

2:00 pm: After fair cleanup
