HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 15, 2022 – High Point University is welcoming another global leader to the growing Access to Innovators Program. Motivational business speaker and international bestselling author Phil M. Jones joins HPU as the Persuasion Expert in Residence.

His career started early at the age of 14 through a car washing business that led to a full-fledged business with his own fleet working on the cars. Since then, he has led experienced teams of sales professionals, as well as guided Premier League Football Clubs to maximize sponsorships and licensing agreements.

After several years as one of the youngest sales leaders in the United Kingdom, Jones created his training and consulting business in 2008 and has grown it since. To date, he has worked with 800 different industries, across 59 countries and five continents. He is trusted by aspiring leaders in health care, real estate, automotive, financial and more industries. He is also the founder of five multimillion-dollar companies.

Jones believes the key to increased success is to ask better questions, focus on the quality of conversations and know exactly what to say in conversation.

“HPU’s Access to Innovators program continues to grow by leaps and bounds, attracting experts from all over the globe to work with our students,” says HPU President Dr. Nido Qubein. “We look forward to welcoming Mr. Jones to campus to mentor our students in the art of persuasion.”

Jones joins a long list of global leaders who serve in residence at HPU. The program at HPU connects students with industry leaders for networking and mentorship opportunities. He joins Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak, HPU’s Innovator in Residence; Netflix Co-Founder Marc Randolph, HPU’s Entrepreneur in Residence; Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall, HPU’s Sports Executive in Residence; Domino’s CEO Russell Weiner, HPU’s Corporate Executive in Residence; Former U.S. Ambassador and FCC Chairman William “Bill” Kennard, HPU’s Global Leader in Residence; Former CEO of Tufts Medical Center Dr. Ellen Zane, HPU’s Health Care Executive in Residence; ABC News’ “Nightline” Anchor Byron Pitts, HPU’s Journalist in Residence; American Actor, Producer and Television Presenter Dean Cain, HPU’s Actor in Residence; and many others.

“HPU understands the need to equip students with the skills to make a significant and powerful contribution to the world, and I am truly honored to help play a part in that mission,” says Jones. “Helping many of our nation’s future leaders gain confidence and competence to negotiate, influence and persuade in more of life’s critical conversations will help give them the edge in a very challenging and complex time.”

Among his honors, Jones is the youngest winner of the British Excellence of Sales and Marketing Award, a member of the National Speakers Association Hall of Fame, author of seven bestselling business books and a children’s book author.

Jones is also the author of the bestselling book series “Exactly” and an audiobook producer of the highly coveted “How to Persuade” series on audible.
