High Point University Welcomes Christopher Ullman As Strategic Communications Expertin Residence

HIGH POINT, N.C., May 18, 2022 – High Point University’s access to global leaders is growing this summer. The university welcomes communications professional Christopher Ullman as HPU’s Strategic Communications Expert in Residence.

Ullman has 35 years of communications experience across the private, public and nonprofit sectors.

“HPU is focused on rendering great value for our students,” says HPU President Dr. Nido Qubein. “Chris’ more than three decades of experience in strategic communications will add measurably to HPU’s impressive and impactful list of global leaders who mentor students through the In Residence program.”

HPU’s Access to Innovators Program connects students with global leaders for networking and mentorship opportunities. Ullman joins Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak, HPU’s Innovator in Residence; Netflix Co-Founder Marc Randolph, HPU’s Entrepreneur in Residence; Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall, HPU’s Sports Executive in Residence; Domino’s CEO Russell Weiner, HPU’s Corporate Executive in Residence; Former U.S. Ambassador and FCC Chairman William “Bill” Kennard, HPU’s Global Leader in Residence; ABC News’ “Nightline” Anchor Byron Pitts, HPU’s Journalist in Residence; American Actor, Producer and Television Presenter Dean Cain, HPU’s Actor in Residence; and many others.

Ullman specializes in corporate communications strategy, brand development, crisis remediation, reputation management and internal communications. In 2018, he established Ullman Communications LLC, a strategic advisory firm serving the C-Suite with an emphasis on financial services.

For 17 years, Ullman served as the director of global communications at The Carlyle Group, a global investment firm in Washington, D.C. Before that, he led communications at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and the U.S. House Budget Committee.

Ullman earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Binghamton University. In his spare time, he serves as an advisor to the American Red Cross for the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region. He is also an avid cyclist and a four-time national and international whistling champion.
