Why: High Point University students want to thank the city of High Point’s first responders by offering a free meal to them. Students will deliver a complimentary dinner, handwritten thank-you notes and HPU T-shirts to local fire stations, police stations and other locations on Monday.

“HPU students are so grateful for everything that our local first responders do to keep us safe, and this event is a great opportunity for us to show that and give back to the community,” says Hannah Tameling, a junior psychology and Spanish major from Wheaton, Illinois. “HPU students want to prioritize connecting with and serving our first responders by honoring this tradition that was first started in 2021.”

Students in HPU’s Student Government Association and other volunteers will assist with distributing the meals and shirts. They will also have signs thanking first responders for their service.

This is the third Frontline Workers Dinner HPU’s SGA has hosted.
