HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University Chapel and Religious Life team invite the HPU family and surrounding community to an Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 9 at 7 a.m. on the Kester International Promenade in front of Hayworth Chapel. 

Student leaders in the chapel community will lead worship, and the Rev. Dr. Preston Davis, minister to the university, will provide a sermon surrounding the Easter story. Communion will also be shared with those in attendance. 

“This has become a lovely new addition to the spiritual life of our campus,” says Davis. “Faculty, staff and community have started gathering each Easter morning to see the sun come up, but also to witness what the Gospel references with the Father’s son rising up on third day. Love rises, hope rises and God defeats the bonds of death then and now.”

A light breakfast and coffee will be served ahead of the worship service.
