His repertoire spans the course of American history from colonial days to the present, along with his original compositions.

This program will include songs and stories about past soldiers and the wars they fought in and also contemporary pieces honoring today's veterans.

Tom has appeared on ABC-TV's "Good Morning America," CNN's "Earth Matters," and the PBS children's show "Shining Time Station" starring Ringo Starr. Excerpts from two of his original songs were included in an Emmy-Award-winning documentary, "A Connecticut Yankee in Red Square."

Following Tom's performance, and just in time for Veterans Day will be an opportunity for veteran soldiers to sign up for A Soldier's Story, a FREE creative writing program.

An Evening with Author Christian Livermore

Join us on November 19th from 5-6 PM for an hour of reflective essays with Author, Christian Livermore at the Hygienic Art Gallery. She will read sections from her memoir, "We Are Not Okay."

Christian Livermore grew up a shy little girl in a turbulent family sunk in poverty, violence, substance abuse, and mental illness. In "We Are Not Okay," Livermore's deeply personal and moving essays explore what it means to grow up poor in America and ask whether it is possible to outrun the shame it grinds into your bones. She excoriates the inhumanity in how the United States treats its poor and asks the nation to confront how growing up poor in America brutalizes us and warps our perspective on ourselves, on other people and on the world.

Book Reading will be presented by Trina Charles, Executive Director of Step Up New London.

Date: Saturday, November 19th 2022
Time: 5-6 PM
Location: 79 Bank Street, New London CT 06320
