Floridians, 

On Tuesday, the January Consumer Price Index report was released and it indicated that inflation increased 6.4% annually. With inflation rates like these, people are going to have to do PB&Js more often. Everything is more expensive, and these figures don’t even factor in food and fuel costs. Make no mistake this was man-made crisis driven by an Administration that doesn’t understand basic economics and believes that we can print trillions of dollars to fix all the problems in the world. 

Additionally, I applauded Governor DeSantis on two proposed bills. The "Digital Bill of Rights" will be aimed at protecting Floridians from big teach overreach and unfair censorship. It also includes measures to combat digital threats from the Communist Party of China. The second piece of legislation announced this week will protect Floridians from the woke ESG financial scam. This legislation puts corporate America on notice that Florida will hold them accountable. I applaud Governor DeSantis and I'm looking forward to working together with his Administration as well as Senate President Passidomo and House Speaker Renner in getting both pieces of legislation over the finish line.

Lastly, as race fans from around the country come to Florida to watch some of the best drivers in the world at the Daytona 500 this weekend, I have deployed members of my Division of Investigative and Forensic Services’ (DIFS) Bomb Squad Team to help ensure safety. The DIFS’ Bomb Squad Team consists of 13 Certified Bomb Technicians and three Apprentices. I appreciate everyone on our DIFS team, and all of Florida’s first responders and law enforcement, who will be working to make sure the event is a success.
