Just Another Quiet Week At The Center Theatre

Arts and Entertainment

From: Center Theatre for the Performing Arts

Hello fans and friends of the Center Theatre,

If you have your browser’s sarcasm filter engaged, then that subject line probably didn’t make any sense. This last week has been anything but QUIET. We’ve sold almost 450 tickets to the Delicious Divas Drag Shows on April 15th and 29th. 90% of those have been to local folks, but we know that there are some other locals who aren’t happy about the shows.

As a community non-profit we host and produce events for everyone. We know that not everyone will like everything we do. You have the freedom to attend or not attend any show at the Theatre. Unfortunately, some people think that NOBODY should attend events they might disagree with. We will continue to respectfully disagree.

We have rented space to churches, gubernatorial debates, fundraisers, and countless events to educate and entertain the community. When the Divas asked to rent the Theatre for a show, it was an easy decision. As long as an event doesn’t violate our non-discrimination policy, we’re happy to have it. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions for other events, feel free to let me know. Including the trolls who gave our name to the Midget Wrestling troupe as a joke.

Now, I don’t want the Drag Show to take over this email (they are Divas after all). We also have some great movies that people have been waiting to see for a long time. Right now, we’re showing M3GAN and A Man Called Otto. Banshees of Inisherin starts Friday the 3rd along with 80 for Brady. The next week The Fabelmans starts on February 10th. Eyes From the Pines is on February 12th and Ant Man and The Wasp: Quantumania) starts the 17th.

There’s even more on the calendar too! So check out everything below and come by to see the things that you’ll enjoy.

Thanks, as always, for your support.
