The Laurel County Homecoming is one of the oldest homecomings in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky.

The Laurel County Homecoming features live music entertainment, food vendors, moonlight market, trail run, local talent contest, putt putt scramble, cornhole pageants and family events all within the grounds of Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park. 7:00pm: Pops in the Park
“THE TOM DAUGHERTY ORCHESTRA” is a nationally known 17 piece show and dance orchestra featuring an exciting and entertaining Big Band Show. The orchestra is under the direction of trombonist and musical arranger Tom Daugherty. Featured with the orchestra is male vocalists Jarrod Harrah who sings in the “Frank Sinatra” style and talented female vocalist Mindy Meltzer. “The Tom Daugherty Orchestra” performs a wide variety of music ranging from the original “Big Band” arrangements of the 1930’s and 1940’s, to the music of the 50’s, 60’s. The group has recorded several albums and has been featured on “live” radio broadcasts and television shows. The orchestra
tours nationally and has performed at the International Glenn Miller Festival in Clarinda, Iowa as well as Virginia Beach, and The Greenbrier Resort. The group has been featured in the independent film “The Rock Of Gibraltar”.

9:00am-11:00am: BOONE TRACE 5K & 10K TRAIL RUN
Travel back in time where wilderness meets history. Retrace the footsteps of the early pioneers in an easy/moderate trail and road run in Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park, a city park located in London, KY. The Boone Trace Trail Run combines the beauty of rolling, wooded hills with historical sites that honors the pioneers who braved the perils of the wilderness to settle Kentucky. The run features several historical landmarks: Boone’s Trace and Wilderness Road between 1774 and 1796, more than 200,000 pioneers traveled over the Wilderness Road and Boone’s Trace, an integral part of Kentucky’s early history. 2022 Register Online NOW

10AM: HOMECOMING PARADE
The Parade will begin at 10 am and participants will lineup at 9am at the North Main Street Kroger parking lot. In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be determined regarding the delay, cancellation or rescheduling of parade. If this occurs it will be notified by Facebook, Instagram, local radio.

Cornhole tournament underneath the Moonlight Tent for extra shade in the park.

Location: Amphitheater stage

12:00pm: DOXIE DERBY RACE
Let your little Dachshund stretch their legs in a chance to win first place in the Doxie Derby! Registration starts at 11:30am and fee is $10.00. Prizes will be for top three Doxie finishers.

2:30PM: BARK IN THE PARK PET PARADE
Bring your family pet and show them off at the aamphitheater in the Pet Parade.” Registration begins 2:00pm.

Pup cups treats for pets 12-5 at shelter 2 tent sponsored by The Grind.

4:00pm-8:00pm: PETTING ZOO AND MORE
Petting Zoo, Pony Rides and Train Rides .

4:30pm: KIDS POWER WHEEL RACE
Kids Power Wheels Race presented by Friends of Laurel County Animals and London Dragway at the Laurel County Homecoming in Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park at Shelter House #2. Registration will begin at 4:00pm.

2pm-5pm: PLAY TRUCK
Play Truck Moon Themed Community Play
Location Shelter 1

The Play House is celebrating Homecoming with moon themed sensory play and art stations, moon sand, galaxy rice, moon dough, and more. Children will also make a magical star wand! This is a free event for children of all ages sponsored by the Laurel County Homecoming.

11:00AM: PUTT PUTT SCRAMBLE
The Laurel County Chamber of Commerce will host a Putt Putt Scramble at the Laurel County Homecoming on August 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM. This event will be held at the Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park Miniature Golf Course in the Campground area. Registration for a 4-person team is $200. It includes registration for the Putt Putt Scramble, a performance from a live band, and a grilled lunch. Hole sponsorships are available for businesses or individuals that would like to support this event. Hole sponsorship cost is $100. Laurel County Honoree Awards Presentation
Each year, nominations are received in eight categories. These nominations consist of standout leaders, business leaders, companies, and nonprofit entities that have positively impacted our community. A video is produced of interviews of all recipients.

8:00PM: MISS AND TEEN LAUREL COUNTY HOMECOMING PAGEANT
The Miss & Teen Laurel County Homecoming Pageant is held during the Laurel County Homecoming, one of longest running events in the state of Kentucky. It has been a Laurel County tradition to gather at the Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park Amphitheater for over 80 years.

The longest continuously running festival in the state of Kentucky. Come see the contestants honor the women that have influenced their lives. Join JJ and Bella as they say farewell and pass their titles to the 2022 winners.
