Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Liberty Insurance Agency a 2025 Make More Happen™ Award for its compassionate partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Pittsburgh and Morgantown, a nonprofit that provides a home-away-from-home for families with critically ill or injured children. The award comes with a $5,000 donation, which can be doubled to $10,000 through online community support.

The Liberty Insurance Agency and RMHC story is featured on the official Make More Happen microsite at www.agentgiving.com/liberty-insurance-agency/ where supporters can vote to help the team unlock the full $10,000 donation. If the story receives at least 500 combined votes and comments, the $5,000 award will be doubled. The funding could provide meals for families for an entire year or sponsor 10 apartments where families can stay near their children receiving treatment.

Through hands-on volunteering and creative fundraising, Liberty Insurance Agency has created a meaningful, ongoing partnership with RMHC Pittsburgh and Morgantown. Staff members regularly cook and serve meals to resident families, collect household essentials and pantry supplies, and run pop tab drives that fund critical services. The agency also donates a portion of proceeds from its quarterly new business referral program and shares stories on social media to elevate RMHC’s mission.

“Cooking for families facing medical challenges has been incredibly humbling,” said Heher. “These moments bring our team closer together and remind us why we do what we do. Our goal is to build a culture of care—inside our agency and throughout the communities we serve.”

A $10,000 Make More Happen Award would help RMHC Pittsburgh and Morgantown alleviate the financial stress of food and lodging for families, allowing them to focus on their child’s healing journey. Whether through meals or safe housing, the support makes a tangible impact.

Throughout 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications showcasing their commitment to a specific cause.
