As the 2023-2024 Bankhead Presents season continues this fall, there is a special weekend in November that will satisfy the theatergoers of the Tri-Valley. Continuing the vibe of Jason Alexander’s whimsical salute to Broadway a few weeks ago, Livermore Valley Arts is elated to present another Tony Award-winning Best Actor in a Musical, powerful baritone Brian Stokes Mitchell, who will kick off a weekend of theatre on Friday, November 10. The next day, on Saturday, November 11, a must-see-performance for anyone who loves theater, history, and the power of the human spirit, Cross That River: The Musical tells the story of a run-away slave who escapes from Louisiana to Texas and becomes one of America's first Black Cowboys. Finally, it will be a starry Sunday indeed on November 12 with Selected Shorts, as recently confirmed stars Tony HaleJane KaczmarekAnika Noni Rose, and Mara Wilson will be reading stories tailored for Livermore in this live theatrical experience. These performances will bring “theatre with an -re” alive right here at The Bankhead, with some absolute stars and stories that will entertain, fulfill, uplift, and transport audiences, theatre fans both new and old. These breathtaking performances will all be at the beautiful Bankhead Theater in Downtown Livermore.
