Rec Center Turns 20 on Friday

It's a celebration! Join us this Friday, April 14, for the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Kirksey Recreation Center, where there will be FREE admission to all Livonia residents all day April 14. Non-resident day passes will be just $5. We’ll also have snacks and giveaways of limited-edition shirts and silicone wristbands while supplies last.

Bring the family by to enjoy the facility throughout the day, but stop in from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to enjoy inflatables, games, balloon twisters, a selfie station and more!

Playground Program Registration Opens Monday, April 17

Summer Camp is just around the corner and Playground Program registration begins 6 a.m. Monday, April 17, for Livonia residents and May 8 for non-residents, if spots remain.

It will sell out quickly, so act fast if you want your child (ages 5-12) to enjoy the camp that runs 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. daily Mondays-Fridays, June 26-Aug. 11 (excluding July 3-4). You only need to register once for the full summer. Visit Livonia.gov/1850 via LivoniaParks.org for more information.

David Sung and Kera Sells Named Aquatics Team Members of the Month

Congratulations to David Sung and Kera Sells for being named the March Aquatics Co-Team Members of the Month.

David has been with us since June 2021 as a lifeguard and is an exemplary guard. He enjoys seafood, playing piano, reading non-fiction and being with his family. He loves working for Livonia Parks and Recreation because it’s a pleasant community to interact with.

Kera has been with us since September 2021 and is in the roles of Pool Supervisor and Lead Swim Instructor. She loves helping others and is rewarded when she sees swimmers become comfortable in the water and start swimming on their own. Kera loves working with her swim lesson kids, pasta, Reese’s, swimming and reading. Kera has shown that she is a great role model for younger staff to look up to and excels in her leadership positions within our Aquatics Division.

We are proud to have David and Kera on our team and appreciate all their hard work!
