Take Pride in Livonia by Helping Clean Up the Parks May 6

Do you Take Pride in Livonia and want to help keep it looking great? Join us for this annual spring cleanup event at the parks 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 6. The cleanup will be followed by a picnic lunch from 11 a.m. to noon. Locations TBD based on the number of participants who volunteer.

This is a great opportunity to obtain service hours for your organization, engage with others in the community, explore new park locations and Take Pride in Livonia! Contact Haakon at [email protected] to volunteer.

Spring Tea Party to Bring Multiple Generations Together for Tea Time

Dress to impress in your Sunday best or Easter dress at our kid-friendly Spring Tea Party from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at Greenmead Historical Park's Alexander Blue House. This is a great opportunity to introduce the next generation to the joy of tea time! A menu of tea sandwiches, veggies, fruit and dessert will be served alongside bottomless fruit-flavored tea.

Advance registration required for all attending. Ages 5 and older are welcome. Cost is $25 per resident and $30 per non-resident.

New Rec Center Readers Book Club Meeting Tomorrow

Our new Rec Center Readers Book Club kickoff event went great in March! The club will meet again 7 p.m. Wednesdays, April 26 and May 31, at the Kirksey Recreation Center. Our April selection is "Beautiful Music" by Michael Zadoorian and our May selection is "Conjure Women" by Afia Atakora.

This event is free to members, but there is a small cost for non-members. Register here. The books are available for checkout at the Livonia Public Libraries.
