Our season kicks off in just two months with a flurry of marriage, madness, and murder in Lucia di Lammermoor. Grammy winner Rhiannon Giddens and film composer Michael Abels (Get Out, Us, Nope) present the West Coast premiere of Omar, and the year ends with a tale of love in a time of revolution as LA native Angel Blue stars in Puccini's Tosca.

In 2023, Hollywood meets Paris as film director James Gray and designer Christian Lacroix team up for Mozart's glittering comedy The Marriage of Figaro. Enter a magical fairytale with Debussy's dreamlike Pelléas and Mélisande, and get your dose of epic drama with the Shakespeare-meets-Verdi masterpiece Otello, starring Artist in Residence Russell Thomas.

But that’s not all: some of the biggest names in opera join us in concert. Treat yourself to solo recitals from Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez, our very own Russell Thomas, and the legendary “people’s diva” Renée Fleming. Baroque fans are in for a treat as The English Concert present Handel's Solomon, and Spain's rich musical traditions take center stage with Isabel Leonard and guitarist Pablo Sáinz-Villegas.

Craving something more cutting-edge? Look no further than LA Opera Off Grand: spend Halloween with the movie that made horror history as Frankenstein with Live Orchestra comes to the gloriously gothic Theater at Ace Hotel with a new score by Michael Shapiro. Or explore Dublin's dark underbelly as Irish composer Emma O’Halloran premieres Mary Motorhead/TRADE at REDCAT.
