Celebrating all things winter, the McCall Winter Carnival was inspired by the Payette Lake Winter Games, first held in 1924 when a train from Boise brought 248 visitors to McCall. The official McCall Winter Carnival started in the 1960s, and over the years, the Carnival has grown into an iconic Idaho event bringing more than 60,000 people to McCall each year.

Enjoy more than 100 unique events throughout the McCall Winter Carnival. Experience live music, parades, dog sledding, and fireworks-just to name a few. Events change from year to year, but there are many events held annually.

Local Snow Sculpture Viewing

Pick up a sculpture map from the McCall Area Chamber and enjoy the icy artistry of local businesses and snow sculptors during the 2024 McCall Winter Carnival!

Sculptures will be finished on Thursday, February 22nd and available for viewing until mother nature takes them away.

Children’s Torchlight Parade

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Join the McCall Area Chamber at the McCall Community Church for the Annual Children’s Torchlight Parade! Lineup will begin at the Church at 5:30pm, children can grab hot chocolate, snacks, and glowsticks while they warm up in the basement. At 6:15, children will line up to walk with firefighters to the Ponderosa Center Terrace where the Winter Carnival bonfire will be lit to start the 2024 celebration!
