Meridian Township, MI – Election Day in Meridian Township for the State Primary is Tuesday, August 2. Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. The Meridian Township Clerk’s Office provides the following important dates and information for voters to prepare for Election Day.

Voter Registration Information:

-Register online at the Secretary of State’s Michigan Voter Information Center (MVIC) at www.michigan.gov/VoterRegistration.

-Register by mail or in person at the Township Clerk’s Office at 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos.

-Eligible residents may also register at a Secretary of State Branch Office, the Ingham County Clerk’s Office or at any state agency that provides public assistance or services to people with disabilities.

-All registrants must be 18 years of age or older, a United States citizen, a resident of Michigan and a resident of Meridian Township when they vote.

-The last day to register to vote in any manner other than in person at the Township Clerk’s Office is July 18 for the Primary Election. After this date, residents may only register to vote in person with proof of residency at the Township Clerk’s Office through 8:00 pm on August 2 (Election Day).

Absentee Voter (AV) Ballot Information:

-AV Ballots will be available to Meridian Township voters beginning June 23.

-Applications for AV Ballots were automatically sent to voters on the Permanent Absentee Voter List. Applications may be requested online through the MVIC website (https://bit.ly/OnlineAVApplication), in person at the Township Clerk’s Office or by contacting the Clerk’s Office at 517.853.4300.

-Applications for AV Ballots can be returned to the Township Clerk’s Office by mail, in person or in the White Drop Box outside the Municipal Building at 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos, MI 48864.

-The deadline for requesting an AV Ballot to be mailed to a resident’s home is July 29 at 5:00 pm.

-Voted AV Ballots must be returned to the Township Clerk’s Office by 8:00 pm on August 2 (Election Day).

-Voted AV Ballots can be returned to the Township Clerk’s Office by mail, in person or in the White Drop Box outside the Municipal Building at 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos, MI 48864.

-AV Ballots may be requested in person at the Township Clerk’s Office until 4:00 pm on August 1. If a voter requests an AV Ballot on August 1 (the day before Election Day), they must vote the AV Ballot at the Township Clerk’s Office. New voters may register to vote at the Township Clerk’s Office on Election Day. Once registered, a voter may vote either at the polls after registering or by AV Ballot at the Township Clerk’s Office.
