Naked Truth: Real. Stories. Live.

Friday, March 3rd  |  7pm

After three long years, we’re back. Celebrate the return of Naked Truth, our true, live storytelling program, with the amazing Josh Healey as emcee and an impressive lineup of storytellers including special guest Glynn Washington, producer of Snap Judgement, and audience favorite and stand-up comedian, Dhaya Lakshminarayanan. Additional storytellers to be announced. Audience members can drop their name in a hat to tell a one-minute story in the Lightning Round.

Black History Month Celebration with Village Rhythm Dancing

Wednesday, February 22nd  |  2:30-3:30pm

Creekside Room

Join us as we celebrate the expression of African Village Dancing! Drum and dance along with Onye Onyemaechi. Onye brings traditional wisdom of African culture and celebration of village life to schools, libraries, and organizations.

Film Friday: Black History Month

Experience Black History Month with a cinematic journey through time. Attendees can expect to learn some film history, improve understanding of the Black experience, and take part in a discussion afterwards.

February 24th: BlacKkKlansman (2018)

This FREE program is for adults. No registration required. 

POETRY WORKSHOP

Poetry Round Table Workshop

Tuesday, March 7th  |  6:30-8pm

Virtual program on Zoom. Registrants will be sent a Zoom link upon registration. Click here to register.

In this virtual Round Table Workshop, attendees share an original poem-in-progress and receive positive feedback and craft suggestions from fellow participants. Calvin Ahlgren, longtime Marin poet and workshop facilitator, will continue to shepherd the process, providing helpful direction and shaping in a supportive environment. 

Important notice: Participants need to submit their poem, no longer than one page, 12-pt or larger to [email protected] by noon on 03/02/2023 to attend the workshop on 03/07/2023. Please enter: Poem Submission in the subject line of your email and include your name in the text of the document with your poem.
