Governor Walz Travels to Kuwait to Visit Troops Ahead of Holidays

Last week, Governor Walz traveled to Kuwait to visit members of the Minnesota National Guard’s 347th Regional Support Group and members of the RSG’s 147th Human Resources Company serving abroad this holiday season.

“It was my honor to spend time with the service members serving our country in Kuwait,” said Governor Walz. “While many Minnesotans will gather with family and friends this holiday season, there are many others who have chosen to sacrifice time with their loved ones to protect us. As a 24-year veteran of the National Guard, I know what it’s like to be away from home and family. Thank you to the brave men and women at home and abroad who fight to defend our safety and freedom every day.”

Governor Walz Announces $4.6 Million for Business Expansion Across Minnesota

Governor Walz announced $4.6 million in funding for four businesses across Minnesota – an investment that is expected to create 276 jobs over the next three years.

“We are working to make Minnesota the best place to grow or start a business – whether that be in Greater Minnesota or the Twin Cities Metro,” said Governor Walz. “Our economy is strong and growing, and we will continue to support businesses like these that are expanding and creating jobs right here in Minnesota.”

Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Celebrate 14 Straight Months of Job Growth

Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan celebrated 14 straight months of job growth in Minnesota. Minnesota gained 99,983 payroll jobs, up 3.5 percent over the year, outpacing the country’s employment growth rate of 3.2 percent.

“Minnesota continues to outpace the country in job growth ,” said Governor Walz. “We will continue to invest in our state’s workforce, economic stability, and small businesses. I look forward to continued growth and making Minnesota the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Convene Fourth Annual Governor and Tribal Leaders Summit

Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan convened their administration's fourth annual Governor and Tribal Leaders Summit.

"We’re committed to strengthening our partnership with all 11 Tribes in Minnesota as we continue to embed government-to-government relations in the fabric of state government,” said Governor Walz.

"For many years, policy has been done to Tribal communities instead of with Tribal communities. We’re grateful for the opportunity to change that by continuing to strengthen our relationships, together. Miigwech to all Tribal leaders who joined us," said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan.
