Governor Walz Signs Mental Health Package into Law

Governor Walz singed a bill into law that invests in mental health services across the state to better reach young people and adults who may be experiencing crisis and support the mental health providers working hard to address these needs.

Governor Walz Announces Minnesotans Can Receive More At-Home Rapid Tests Through State Program

On Thursday, Governor Walz announced that Minnesotans can place a second order for four free at-home rapid tests through the state’s online ordering program. Minnesotans who have previously ordered tests from this program are now able to receive four additional tests per household (for up to a total of eight tests). Order your free at-home rapid tests here. 

Governor Walz Celebrates Comprehensive Veterans Omnibus Bill and National Guard Retention Bonus Bill

Governor Walz signed two bipartisan bills into law to honor Minnesota's veterans and the extraordinary sacrifices they have made for our state and nation. The bills will:

-- Expand reenlistment bonuses to members of the Minnesota National Guard;

-- Help prevent veteran homelessness;

-- Fund veterans homes and cemeteries;

-- And provide service bonuses to eligible veterans and their families.

Governor Walz Orders Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Memorial Day

Governor Tim Walz has ordered all United States and Minnesota flags to fly at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in the State of Minnesota, from sunrise until noon on Monday, May 30, 2022, in honor of those who have died while serving in the United States military.

Governor Walz Declares Gun Violence Awareness Day in Minnesota

On Friday, Governor Walz proclaimed Gun Violence Awareness Day in the State of Minnesota. 

"On Gun Violence Awareness Day, we #WearOrange to reaffirm our commitment to working toward a future free from gun violence. Ensuring public safety in every community is among the highest responsibilities of every public servant—it’s time to get this done to keep all people safe," said Governor Walz.

Governor Walz Visits the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe

On Wednesday, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan visited the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe to meet with Chief Executive Melanie Benjamin, Tribal Council, Mille Lacs Elders, fellow veterans, and students at Abinoojiiyag Elementary School.
