Experience the beauty of spring on the mountaintop as our Victorian Show Garden comes to life with a breathtaking splendor of 20,000 tulips and the wonder of our budding natural landscape. In celebration, we welcome a variety of floral teas and cookies daily, alongside crafts, garden tours, campfires, music, cocktail demonstrations, and more.

Ledge, Lake, Leaf, Labyrinth with Nora Scarlett

Join photographer Nora Scarlett as she presents an uncommon portrait of the Shawangunk mountains. This visual tour will include photographs of the Mohonk preserve, Minnewaska State Park, and Mohonk Mountain House itself; offering insight into the geology, flora, fauna, and history of each.

Wildlife of the Shawangunk Mountains with David Johnson

Join David Johnson as he shares images and stories of the native wildlife right here on the Shawangunk Ridge. "The Gunks" is a 47-mile long ridge of bedrock that has been designated by The Nature Conservancy as "one of Earth's last great places." David's work has even been preserved by the Smithsonian.

"Jervis McEntee and the Hudson River School of Art" with Professor Kerry Dean Carso

This illustrated lecture will serve as an introduction to the Hudson River School, a group of nineteenth-century American landscape painters.? The Hudson River School was part of the larger movement of Romanticism that exalted in natural scenes as a response to the Industrial Revolution. ?The lecture will focus on the Kingston artist Jervis McEntee and examine his place within the context of nineteenth-century technological progress and the Romantic lure of nature.

Mohonk History: A Trip through the Archives with Peter Bidowski

Please join Mohonk's very own "Professor of Mohonkiana" Peter Bidowski as he takes a playful but accurate look at the early history of the Mohonk Mountain House.  Using previously unseen photos from the Mohonk Archives and quotes from Smiley Family correspondence, Peter gives an intimate look at the time and events surrounding and influencing the discovery, purchase and building of the Mountain House.  Peter has worked extensively delving into Mohonk history not only in the Archives but also at the Barn Museum, where old relics are clues to a rich and varied past!

Following a successful showcase at the Queens Botanical Garden last year, she revisits the theme of healing leaves and delves into the Afro-Brazilian Orixá myth of Ossanhe, inviting you to join a celebration of nature and spirituality in this immersive experience.

Dance Class: Rumba and Salsa

Emerging from Cuban influences, the vibrant salsa and romantic rumba are some of the most popular Latin dances practiced worldwide. Learn the foundational skills and polish off your steps with dance instructor Laurie Shayler.

Join Mohonk's Beverage Team in an exploration of tequila and the many ways it can be used to make several perfect cocktails.*Note: Pre-registration is required with a $40 per person program fee for admittance to the tasting. Space is limited. Participants must be age 21 or over to attend.

?Noche de baile! with Fleur Seule

Debuting at La Marqueta in el barrio Spanish Harlem, Allyson Briggs "La Rubia" has expanded her performances to Tavern on the Green, Lincoln Center, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Because of her commitment to maintaining classic salsa's presence in New York City and Puerto Rico, she was awarded Taino Nation Female Entertainer of the Year 2022. Come dance to her stellar band (Fleur Seule) and their renditions of salsa hits, made famous by Celia Cruz, Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, and more! Tonight will be an evening of primarily classic salsa in both Puerto Rican and Cuban styles, with some selections?including cha cha, mambo, and rumba.

Marty Molitoris, Founder and Director of Alpine Endeavors and Multi-Certified Climbing Guide, will give an introduction to this physically and mentally demanding sport. Often testing the climber's strength, endurance, agility and balance, rock climbing can also take climbers to some of the most beautiful places on earth.

Based out of Kingston, NY, Karen is a favorite at Mohonk Mountain House and has shared her stories on WAMC National Public Radio, as well as libraries, camps, churches, parks, schools, historic sites and at festivals.
