Moraine Valley Foundation gala raises thousands to help students

The Moraine Valley Foundation raised more than $70,000 at its “Mask-erade Night” Fundraising Gala to support Moraine Valley Community College. The money raised will be used for student scholarships, student emergency funds and to help support various college projects.
Approximately 180 people attended the event, which was held on Moraine Valley’s campus and was emceed by Julian Tillery, manager of theater operations and services at the college’s Fine and Performing Arts Center. A live auction, led by Raising Paddles, allowed attendees to bid on exciting prizes such as a trip to Cabo San Lucas Mexico, a chance to meet with world-renowned entertainer Jim Witter, a sports fan package and Chicago restaurant packages. In addition, over 100 items were available in an online silent auction.
Entertainment was provided by Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos, and attendees participated in fun activities such as a heads-and-tails game and a paddle drop game, which awarded the winner a trip to Las Vegas.
Country House Restaurant provided dinner and a special dessert was created by students in Moraine Valley’s Culinary Arts Program.
“We were so glad to host our gala at Moraine Valley after having it virtually for the past two years. It is always exciting to have everyone together and to express our gratitude to our supporters in person,” said Kristy McGreal, executive director of the Foundation. “The gala’s proceeds will allow us to help students pursue their educational goals.”
Sponsors of the gala included Wind Creek Chicago Southland, dessert sponsor; Governors State University and KI, table sponsors; and Heide Wealth Management Group and HomeLight, silent auction sponsors. The Foundation’s 2022 annual event sponsors include Demonica Kemper Architects, platinum; Mr. and Mrs. Coleman and UPS, gold; Legat Architects and PepsiCo, silver; and Advocate Aurora Health, First Midwest Bank, a division of Old National Bank, and Medix, supporting sponsors.
