From: Museum Of Chinese In America

September 21, 7:00pm-8:30pm

The museum is excited to collaborate with writer/actress Rachel Lin again for a workshop performance of DEAR JOHN. This solo show draws inspiration from real-life events, where in 2011, an estranged father named “John” reached out to a long lost daughter for the first time via Facebook. He begins writing her letters, but she doesn’t reply for years. Until a sudden illness beckons her to confront her hidden past.

THE JOURNEY WALL

Maya Lin's custom art installation, the Journey Wall at the museum, stands as a tribute to the personal journeys of individuals and families of the Chinese diaspora.

We are dedicated to honoring their legacies. You have the opportunity to honor your family or friends of Chinese descent by dedicating a tile in their name. Each dedication of a tile comes with a recording of the family’s oral history that will live in the museum’s archives. The recording can be made public as part of our archives or kept private for personal remembrance.

Contribute to the Chinese American experience, and commemorate your loved ones' legacy on the Journey Wall.
