Native American Powwow Comes to Seville

On Saturday May 18th , Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO), in conjunction with Medina County Park District is hosting Honoring the Traditions Powwow at Buffalo Creek Retreat at 8708 Hubbard Valley Rd in Seville, Ohio. A powwow is a vibrant and cultural gathering where Indigenous people come together to celebrate their heritage. It is filled with colorful dances, rhythmic drumming and singing.

Many tribes will be represented featuring different regalia and dance styles. There is a master of ceremonies who will lead the powwow and will explain the difference dances and their origin. There will also be an award-winning flutist, storyteller, and Native American craft vendors and food.

The event will be held inside the Buffalo Creek Retreat Center. Bring your own chairs. General admission (cash only) is $5 for ages 13 and up, $3 for seniors and veterans, kids under 13 are free. Gates open at 10:30 am with the Grand Entry at noon where all dancers and flag bearers will dance into the arena.
