From: City of Cupertino

New leaf blower regulations will go into effect on Sunday, November 6. These regulations will go into effect Citywide and apply to all properties, including commercial and office developments. Any activity involving the use of leaf blowers must comply with these regulations, including landscaping and/or gardening professionals.

Leaf blowers within Cupertino City limits must be:

- Certified by the manufacturer to produce no more than 65 decibels at a distance of 50 feet from the leaf blower, identifiable in the owner’s manual or manufacturer’s website.
- Compliance can also be verified with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard B175.2 sticker affixed to the device.
- Property owners and managers are responsible for ensuring compliance on their property regardless of who is using the leaf blower. Property owners and managers found to be in violation may receive administrative citations.
