New Haven Free Public Library Happenings - November 2022

Schools and Libraries

October 28, 2022

From: New Haven Free Public Library - Ives

November is Native American Heritage Month

November is a month to celebrate and pay tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of Native Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Native Alaskans. It can also be a time to learn more about the Native peoples of Connecticut and to recognize that we are living on the traditional lands of the Mohegan, Mashantucket Pequot, Eastern Pequot, Schaghticoke, Golden Hill Paugussett, Niantic, Quinnipiac, and many others.

You can check out books and visit our local history room to do research. The Connecticut State Library has also created a resource page if you are interested in taking a deeper look.

Library Holiday Closures:

The New Haven Free Public Library will close at all locations on Friday, November 11 for  Veterans’ Day and Thursday, November 24 for Thanksgiving.

For all our 2022 holiday hours, please refer to our Holiday Closings.
