The New Haven Free Public Library, in partnership with the Yale Affinity Groups, is excited to bring you this book club for families focusing on topics of social importance! We will focus on New Haven and Connecticut Cultures and read Pizza at Sally's by Monica Wellington. Read about how Sally grows and buys fresh ingredients that she uses in making pizza at her pizzeria, then make your own paper plate pizza craft. Families, caregivers, and children are welcome to attend!

Exploring Artism at Wilson Library

Saturday, August 5 & 19, 1-2 pm | Wilson

Explore works of art, practice social skills, and make a no-fail art project with educators from the Yale Center for British Art! A free program for children on the autism spectrum (5–12 years old) and their parents, siblings, and other relatives. Quiet area available with sensory toys and blankets. The summer youth apprentice program, formerly known as BYOC (Build your own computer) is geared for youth ages 16-18 years old who are still in high school, to learn how to troubleshoot, repair and refurbish PC computers. Participants will gain hands-on training working on computers, and upon completion of the program, they will receive a computer to keep.
