Wacky Wednesday Fun!
Wednesdays, 4-5 pm - Mitchell
Ages 5 and up and their caregivers.
September 7: Makey Makey
Makey-Makeys let us turn anything that conducts electricity into a piano, a game controller, or even its own game. We'll explore the basics of electricity! Presented by the SCSU Buley Library.
September 21: LEGO Club
We'll provide the LEGOs, you bring the creativity!
September 28: SLIME TIME
We'll learn just enough chemistry to get messy and make colorful sparkly slime with glue and borax!
Wonderful Books and Where to Find Them

The New Haven Free Public Library, in partnership with the Yale Affinity Groups, is excited to bring you this book club for families focusing on topics of social importance! In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we’ll be reading Paletero Man by Lucky Diaz. Join us in the Children's Room or online!
Tiny Art Show - Take & Make
September 6-24 - Ives
Artists of all ages are welcome to join us for our first ever Tiny Art Show in Ives Squared! Each participant will receive a 4x4 canvas on which they can create their art. Our theme is "The Great Outdoors." Artworks will go on display in early October. Please note that kits are only available while supplies last. All art must be returned by Friday, September 30 to be included in voting.
In-Person Creation Day
Saturday, September 10, 2-4 pm - Ives
Join us for two hours of open art and enter our Tiny Art Show! Supplies will be provided.
Music Haven: Haven String Quartet Performance

The Haven String Quartet (HSQ) is Music Haven’s professional resident ensemble and spearheads the organization’s tuition-free strings program for youth.

Join artist, musician, and writer Briana Williams and Arts Paper editor Lucy Gellman for the Inklings Writer's Workshop. Teens and adults are welcome! This event is made possible with the support of the City of New Haven.
Teen PRIDE Button Making Bonanza

Help kick off the NHFPL's PRIDE New Haven 2022 celebrations by stopping by the Teen Center to make some awesome PRIDE/LGBTQ+ themed buttons with our button maker! Open to grades 7-12.
Ani-Mondays @ the Teen Center!

Mondays in September will be Ani-Mondays where teens can stop by the Teen Center to vote on and watch different anime films or tv series! Open to grades 7-12.

Library Updates
Library Holiday Closures:
The New Haven Free Public Library will close at all locations for Labor Day on Saturday, September 3 and Monday, September 5.
The Library will delay opening on Friday, September 9 until 1pm for staff development.
