Monthly Office Hours Resume!
Special Digitization Discussion
It's the "third Thursday" of the month, so plan to join Maryann and other Central District librarians for an hour of conversation and sharing this Thursday, September 15, from 1:30-2:30. Special guest will be Tom Keyser, from the State Library, who will briefly share information about how you can digitize historical collections at your library. And as always, we'll have plenty of time for you to discuss topics of your own choosing. Simply click the green link below to join.

Learning Circuit: Disaster Preparedness
Local, State, and National experts come together in this hybrid event designed to give those working in Iowa libraries additional tools, support, and planning as they think ahead to future, potential disasters.
All communities were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, not to mention other disasters or trying events that have impacted many of us. This day-long event is designed to introduce you (library directors, staff, and trustees) to basic concepts of emergency management, get you connected to local and state partners who can help when disaster strikes, and assist your team (however large or small it is) in thinking through how your library should respond if the worst happens.
Following the Oct. 20 event, attendees will receive a series of follow up emails and invitations for additional CE webinars in November and December to provide support and guidance in working through the process initiated at the Learning Circuit. By the end of the year, attendees will have a complete Disaster Preparedness Plan in place for their library.
Date: Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022 | 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Librarians can earn 4 CE credits for attending the Learning Circuit.
Six locations will be throughout the state, with the Central District location at Johnston Public Library. (You may attend the location that's most convenient for you.)
