Old Time Radio Returns to Creative 360 Bayliss Stage

July 5, 2023, Midland, MI. – On Friday July 14, and Saturday July 15, dive into radio noir’s dark underbelly as the Creative Radio Network transports you from the Bayliss Street stage to the seamy 1930 LA underworld of hard-boiled gumshoe Philip Marlowe.

Philip Marlowe, Private Eye was developed by Raymond Chandler. Originally a series of short stories in pulp magazines, the character was so popular that Chandler wrote a book series that included The Big Sleep and The Lady in the Lake.  A radio and a television series soon followed with the character eventually hitting the big screen. Marlowe has been played by such famous actors as Humphrey Bogart, Robert Mitchum, Elliot Gould, and James Garner.

“Philip Marlowe is great story telling,” said the show’s award winning director Carol Rumba. “We are excited to transport you to the world of this gritty detective.”

This presentation stars Creative Radio Network favorites John McPeak, David Ritter, Todd Little, Mark Turpin, Terri Shroeder, Carol Rumba and JoAnn Pobocik. Live sound effects created by Foley artist Cheryl Felch will make you feel like you are right there in the studio and each episode of the show is punctuated by original commercial jingles. It’s a great opportunity for guests of all ages relive the excitement of a night around the radio while enjoying snacks and beverages from home.

“The Old Time Radio Shows continue to be a special event at Creative 360,” said Executive Director Laura Vosejpka. “We are excited to offer this family summer presentation. This will be the last radio show on the Bayliss Street stage and one of the final performance events before we move to our new location at the end of the month.”

“The Adventures of Philip Marlowe” Old Time Radio Show performances are Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at the 1517 Bayliss Street Gallery. Admission to this event is $15 prepay or $20 at the door / BYOB. Seating is limited.
