Old Tyme Farm Days returns to The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground Thanksgiving with great music in the Music Hall for this holiday weekend!

SPIRIT OF THE SUWANNEE MUSIC PARK, LIVE OAK, FLA – It’s that wonderful time of the year again when friends and families gather at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) to enjoy Thanksgiving Day together at their campsites or in the Music Hall, check out Old Tyme Farm Days, and take a trek through the amazing Suwannee Lights display (Nov. 21 opening this year!)

Traditional Thanksgiving dinner is held at the SOSMP Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, at noon when you can bring a covered dish with your favorite recipe ready to serve and $10 per person! SOSMP provides turkey with all the fixings for you to enjoy in the SOSMP’s Music Hall!

Friday and Saturday is Old Tyme Farm Days with syrup making demonstrations, arts and crafts, sled pulls, antique equipment and exhibits, a modern-day sawmill operation and lots of handmade and antique items ready to place under your Christmas tree this year for your loved ones!

Returning for the third year will be demonstrations by world champion Pumpkin Chunker from Pennsylvania, none other than "Fat Jimmy." Stop by and watch backwoods engineering at its best as the pumpkins fly from old-world catapults. YES, you too can “chunk a punkin” (small fee).

Also, during Old Tyme Farm Days will be the instructors from The Suwannee Spirit Kids Music Camp events! These folks will let your kids explore REAL music instruments and maybe even sneak in a lesson. Look for the teachers next to the syrup making demonstration at the porch stage where you'll find live music all day long.  You can enjoy bluegrass, folk, gospel and even classic rock, including appearances by newly inducted Georgia Country Music Hall of Fame members Karen and Cora Goines and cloggers on Saturday.

This festival brings the opportunity for you to step back in time and experience life on the farm with all the live demonstrations and interactive exhibits, learn about traditional farming techniques and see antique farm equipment in action! There will also be face-painting and many arts and crafts vendors and plenty of delicious food during this great festival.

You will also find live music in the Music Hall Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Thanksgiving evening from 7-10 p.m. it is karaoke. Southern Exposure Band takes the stage Friday night and Naturally Southern Band Saturday night with both bands playing from 8-11 p.m. Don’t forget those dancing shoes!

Doors open each night at 5 p.m. with supper available.

During live event performances, a minimum of $5 purchase per person is required unless otherwise specified. The SOS Café is open Thursday – Saturday for lunch and supper. The café is open for breakfast only on Friday and Saturday. For reservations, please call the SOS Café at 386-364-1703 Thursday-Saturday.
