Out-of-Stater Navigator: Tim Sheehy Blocks Montanans Out and Invites Rich Tourists In

Government and Politics

May 10, 2024

Transplant Tim Sheehy continues to prove how out-of-touch he is with the Montana way of life. New reporting uncovered that Sheehy charged rich tourists $12,500 for luxury hunting excursions on his recently-purchased “prime elk-hunting” land, while refusing to participate in Montana’s popular Block Management Program that would allow Montanans access.

And the Montana Association of Rabbis called on Sheehy to denounce “hatred, antisemitism, and bigotry,” following his campaign running an antisemitic ad and his deputy political director’s antisemitic social media engagement.

SHEEHY BLOCKS MONTANANS FROM HUNTING ACCESS – UNLESS THEY’RE WEALTHY TOURISTS

New reporting from NBC News reveals Transplant Tim refused to provide Montanans public access to his recently-purchased “prime elk-hunting” land – but was willing to charge rich tourists $12,500 for luxury hunting excursions that promised “private access to over 500,000 acres of National Forest.”

Sheehy’s ranch also refuses to participate in Montana’s popular Block Management Program, “a program run by the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks that works with private landowners to provide free hunting access.” This refusal blocks everyday Montanans from hunting on Sheehy’s “prime elk-hunting country.”

ONE MONTH AND COUNTING: SHEEHY STILL REFUSES TO RELEASE HIS HOSPITAL RECORDS

One month after the Washington Post first reported Sheehy’s inconsistent accounts of how he received his gunshot wound, Sheehy still refuses to release the hospital medical records from that day that would reveal the truth of what happened.

Montanans are owed truth and transparency – Sheehy must release his medical records.

TIM SHEEHY SILENT AFTER STAFFER’S ANTISEMITIC VIEWS REVEALED

Sheehy refused to comment after new reporting from Axios revealed his deputy political director’s antisemitic social media activity.

Axios reported that Caleb Oriet, who the Sheehy campaign claimed was a “young field staffer” but identified himself as Sheehy’s deputy political director, had liked antisemitic content, including a post that said "Don't follow me for my cute cat posting if you can't stand by me when I deny the Holocaust." The news follows reporting from Daily Beast last week that the same Sheehy staffer had promoted racist content on social media.

MONTANA RABBIS CALL ON SHEEHY TO “REJECT HATRED, ANTISEMITISM, AND BIGOTRY”

The Montana Association of Rabbis penned a new op-ed urging Sheehy to “reject hatred, antisemitism, and bigotry” after Sheehy ran an antisemitic ad that “invokes very old, false conspiracy theories about Jewish people” and his deputy political director engaged with antisemitic social media posts, including about Holocaust denial.
