Over 100 Days Into Her Campaign, No-Answer Nella Still Refuses to Give Straight Answers

Government and Politics

April 29, 2024

Nella has not been upfront with New Mexicans for the entire 103 days of her campaign

As No-Answer Nella’s campaign for U.S. Senate passes the 100-day mark, voters still have not heard any specifics from the self-funded candidate, even on the most important issues like where she stands on abortion and whether or not she supports Trump. After 103 days, it’s clear that No-Answer Nella refuses to be upfront with voters.

Within the last 103 days, New Mexicans noticed that Nella avoided interviews for as long as possible, and once she finally gave an interview, dodged questions about Trump and abortion. Before her first FEC filing became public, Nella misled the press and voters by inflating her campaign’s fundraising numbers.

New Mexicans deserve straight answers from Nella on several of the most predominant issues in the upcoming election:

  1. Did you vote for Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020, and will you vote for him this year?
  2. If you claim to support abortion care in “rare” instances, why don’t you support federal protections for abortion access nationwide?
  3. Where do you stand on nationwide access to medical abortion care like Mifepristone?

“The first 100 days of Nella’s campaign for U.S. Senate were defined by her refusal to give any interviews and her inability to give New Mexicans direct answers,” said Democratic Party of New Mexico Spokesperson Daniel Garcia. “103 days since Nella parachuted into New Mexico from the East Coast to launch her campaign, she still refuses to give straight answers on important issues like Trump and abortion.”

No-Answer Nella cannot expect to coast through a race for U.S. Senate without telling voters where she stands on key issues just because she can self-fund her campaign and has family and Wall Street connections. New Mexicans deserve to know where their candidates stand. Anything else is downright disrespectful.
