October Program Spotlights

Monday, October 10th the Paul Pratt Memorial Library will be closed for the observance of Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples Day.

October Children's Events

Sing along with Mamasteph, dance with Ms. Bethany and listen along with Puppet Story Time. Our calendar is packed with fun and educational programs for kids. 

Be sure to also stop by every Thursday starting at 10:00 AM for Take and Make Crafts! These theme-based craft kits will contain all you need to create an exciting project. Plus, a Hoopla book suggestion will be posted on Facebook. Quantities are limited.

Learn to connect mind and body through storytelling, breathwork and games in this Movement and Mindfulness series designed for young children and their families. In this weekly program, we will read stories, stretch and move our bodies through play, as well as learn to breathe deeply, all in an effort to establish connection with others and peace within. 

Ages 4 and under with caregiver.

Therapy Dog Program

Tuesday's in October

Our reading therapy dogs will be here to practice their listening skills! Bring your favorite book to read to a therapy dog or borrow one from the library. 

Our team of therapy dogs are non-judgmental listeners who give confidence to emerging readers as they work their way to become automatic and fluent readers. 

Our team of dogs have been trained and certified by CWDF Canine Ambassadors and visit weekly through the generosity of the Cohasset Working Dog Foundation.

Eyes on Owls: Live Owl Show

Saturday, October 1st

Library - Outside Under the Tent 

Join Marcia Wilson, renowned naturalist and owl rehabilitator, and Mark Wilson, wildlife photographer, for "Eyes on Owls," a unique live show.

They will introduce us to owls found in New England and around the world. You will practice your hooting skills, see live owls close up and learn what you can do to protect these valuable birds of prey.

HAUNTED OBJECTS - and BIGFOOT Memorabilia - with the Travel Channel's "Paranormal Couple!"

“The Paranormal Couple” -- Cody Ray DesBiens and Satori Hawes from the Travel Channel’s Ghost Nation --dive deep into the phenomena of Haunted Objects. As the curators of a "Haunted Museum of Objects, Oddities, and Curiosities" and Bigfoot relics. Satori and Cody have built up a collection of creepy oddities and haunted objects that you won't want to miss.
