[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz today visited Lake Middle School in Woodbury to hear from students and teachers about ways to improve education for students across the state. He was joined by South Washington County Schools Superintendent Julie Nielson, Lake Middle School Principal Molly Roeske, and Lake Middle School students and teachers. The Governor made clear that investing in education will be a top priority of his administration for the upcoming legislative session and his second term. Photos from today’s event are attached.

“As a former classroom teacher, I have been working since day one of this administration to provide the best education possible for our students,” said Governor Walz. “We have a historic opportunity to invest in our students, our education system, and the future of our state. As we think about that future, now is the time to listen to our students and teachers about what the state can do to support them.”

Governor Walz also congratulated Lake Middle School for being named a 2022 National Blue Ribbon school for academic performance and closing achievement gaps. Lake Middle School is one of eight schools in Minnesota that were awarded a National Blue Ribbon this year.
